Northwood Village Chefs Challenge Winners at Art and Wine Promenade 2012

The winners were announced. What a fun evening we all had at Northwood Village. Great turnout for this years Chefs Challenge. We had wines to pair with the Chefs creations. I found that most of the wines paired nicely with almost every dish. The wine we served was:

2009 Pacific Rim dry Riesling to go with Malakor Thai Café – Chef Noopy – Thai Dumpling

2011 Fleur Du Cap Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa to pair with Fresh Catch Seafood Chef Mark Kulbacky – White Fish and Yellow Rice with Mixed Vegetables

2008 Stemmari Chardonnay from Sicilia to pair with Café Centro – Chef Jairo Ramirez – Four Cheese Ravioli with Gorgonzola Alfredo

2009 Sidewise Pinot Noir to pair with Jade Kitchen – Chef Wayne Devers – Bacon Wrapped Banana

2009 Querceto Chianti to pair with Presto Pizza & Deli – Chef Gary Erveluz– Eggplant Parmigiana

2008 Fleur Du Cap Merlot from South Africa to pair with Souvlaki Grill – Chef Benjamin Diaz – Baked Pastitsio (Greek Lasagna)

2008  Veramonte Cabernet Reserve from Chili to pair with Sunset Bar & Grill – Chef Terry Marince – Sunset Meatball

2010 Shoofly Shiraz from Australia paired with Seafood Soul– Chef Hubert Newton – Seafood Fritter

The winners of the 2012 Northwood Village Chefs Challenge:

1st place was  Seafood Soul– Chef Hubert Newton – Seafood Fritter

2nd place was Malakor Thai Café – Chef Noopy – Thai Dumpling

3rd place was Sunset Bar & Grill – Chef Terry Marince – Sunset Meatball

All of the chef creations were delicious. They were all winners in my book. Thank you Northwood Village for such a great evening. Look forward to seeing you next month.
